Now that you have been on a journey of your own through the first part of the 8 Alive program, what have you learnt? How are you different? What things will you always remember about last week?

Now that all most of the class has their blogs linked to the main blog have a look around. Check out four or five other student’s blog entries and write comments for them. Try to respond to their ideas. Ask them questions which they can answer, either by commenting on your blog, or by writing a comment on their own blog responding to what you said. Or they may want to write a blog post about what you have said if it is really interesting. Keep looking at the comments to see if a conversation or debate develops. When you have done that, write your thoughts on the journeys that happened in the film. Were they like any journeys you have ever been on? How were they similar or different? I’d love to read your thoughts about this.
This week you need to tell me your user name so that I can link your blog up to the class blog, and then when we have done that we can go public. You can let friends and family know your address so they can stop by your blog and add comments. Have a look at the blogs of other students in this calss and if you wanrt you can add comments too. That is the beauty of blogs, they allow people to have a say both in writing the blogs and in the ability to comment on those of others. Some very interesting conversations can happen through blog posts and comments. What do you think of blogging so far? Write your thoughts and remember that it’s early days yet. And that technology isn’t always perfect. Despite this some people say that blogging is another way too think and another way to learn. Do you agree? Why or why not?
Welcome! This is the class blog of Year Eight English. All your individual blogs are linked to this blog so that you can see all your classmates’ weblogs. Your first job is to make your blogs look the way you want them and then have a think about the film Fly Away Home and what you’ve see so far. What has happened to Amy and the way she is with her father now? Why do you think this has happened? Do you like the film? Why or why not?
